    Who is a healthy Individual according to Ayurveda?

    He who, being established in Self,
    has balanced doshas (the governing principles of physiology),
    Balanced agni (healthy appetite and digestion),
    Properly formed dhatus (tissues),
    proper elimination of malas (wastes),
    Proper functioning kriyas (bodily processes),
    And whose manas (mind),
    Atman (soul), and
    indriya (senses) are full of bliss -is called a healthy person.

    He who is established in self(self reliant), has balanced his constitution, good appetite and digestion, healthy tissues,proper elimination of wastes(fecaes,urine and sweat), properly functioning body processes AND whos mind, soul and senses are full of bliss - that is a healthy person ayurveda herbal medicine preparation

    Correct Diet in Ayurveda

    In ayurved, the beginning of healing is with balancing the doshas(constitution) so if you are for example a vata or pitta person you need to follow the pitta or vata diet respectively, as well as the reccomended lifestyle for your constitution, this will garuantee the most healthy life possible, with radiance , happiness and contentment, ignoring the correct lifestyle and diet for your constitution, is the beginning of disease.

    Vata -Dont Worry!

    The best advice for a vata person aside from the diet is to eat a regular 3 meals a day, consistantly at the same time, routine is really good for vatas as is practicing some sort of grounding meditation and practicing yoga, early bedtime is also recommended. please click here for the vata pacifying diet

    Pitta -Stay Calm and Dont Hurry!

    Pitta people need to learn to calm and soothe thier fiery temprament and agression, this can best be achieved by meditation of the calm abiding sort, and avoiding heat, both in temperature and climate and in food

    Kapha -Stay Busy!

    In ayurveda it is said in order for a person to cure a Kapha person you need to be a mother to a vata, a friend to a pitta and an enemy to a kapha to motivate them to do anything about thier health! Especially around exercise and diet!, best advice is to exercise vigourously and often, sweat every day, normal meditation will put a kapha to sleep so standing meditation may be necessary. Bikram Yoga would probably be ideal.
